KROOK ROCK A.K.A. CRUZ PIEDRA
Krook started his musical persuits in Providence, RI, where he was born, in 1989 with brother Marc, who produced two songs on Krook Rock’s CRONKETON album, which will be released and distributed by Universal Latino in the Summer of 2006. Krook began developing his talents as a DJ first then rapper. By 1992 he and Merc started making beats on an EMU SP-12.
They started a group called the “Mackmen” and began to perform at all the high schools and at community events through out the city. Krook has performed all over New England (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island), NYC, Florida and Texas at various night clubs, festivals and colleges. He had released an EP in ‘98 and LP in 2000 with a group called Bad Luck Crew then went solo and released two albums (a spanish LP titled Desayuno and an English CD called Streets Got A Hold) simultaneously in 2003 before striking a record deal with JKH Entertainment, INC and independant record company, distributed by Universal Latino.
His album is complete and soon to hit the market. In the mean time he is generating a buzz with his self-titled mixtape, hosted by Hot 97’s(NYC) DJ Camilo, and a second one that debuted on New Years Day hosted by DJ Chubby Chub of Hot 97 FM in Boston. He is currently performing at differen’t events any where the opportunity rises. Krook is a very talented song writer and producer with an uncanny style and a persuasive energy that drives him towards success by any means.
